New Handwriting Goals
What I've done well - In handwriting I think I've worked hard on taking my time and forming my letters right.
What I need to work on - I think I need to carry on with working on my slope because I'm not very good at it.
Interveiw Questions
Parent Interviews - Yearly Reflections
My writing goal is (have you changed it, why?) - My writing goal is to use a range of written features to engage the audience. E.g, metaphors, similes and onomatopoeia. I have changed my goal because it’s similar to my other goal which I still need to work on.
I practise this by Working hard and concentrating on my work.
A piece of writing I am proud of is my lawn mower rampage because I worked so hard on it.
In maths I am currently learning (how do you feel about this, what are your next steps? Give your parents a rundown of what we do as well)… In maths I am learning to minis and add big numbers together like 278 - 165 = 113. I feel like I’m getting to the stage where I can do these problems by myself. My next steps are to challenge myself a bit harder.
Reading - Share your reading work (talk about some of the things you do in reading.) In reading we have been working on making podcasts. We have to choose a book and on a sheet of paper we have to write about the character. once we had done we recorded our selfs with a partner and read of our sheet and read a bit out of the book we chose.
Do you have any other goals you would like to share, what are you doing to achieve them? Another goal I have is spell harder words because the level I’m on is to easy for me. I’m going to achieve this by doing my homework every night.
Pick 3 more pieces of work from your blog (write why you are going to share them and what you were learning to do)
- End of year reflection. we were learning to reflect on our year.
- Bike safety. We Were learning safety with our bike so we don’t have accidents.
- Speech board. We were had to speak about something we now well and share bits of our favourite parts.
New Writing Goal
Goal - My new goal is beginning to use a range of written features to engage the audience, e.g., metaphors, similes and onomatopoeia .
I chose this goal because I need to make my writing more interesting by using these goals.

Good learners discover facts and make mistakes and fix them.
What is one way that you show that in class?
Work as a team and concentrate hard.
What is one Toko Learning Star that you would like to work on?
I would like to work on Well Being because I haven’t got that learning star on my star.
What is one learning goal you are currently working on, what are you doing to achieve it?
In writing I want to get better at using poetic language.
If you were going to give yourself a message for learning in 2018, what would it be?
Let my brain get its ideas out more and say my ideas out loud.

Bike Safety
Goal - Recount what I learned at bike safety.
Personal goal - Use poetic language.
On Wednesday last week Senior Jono came to Toko school for bike safety. The year 3 and 4’s had to bring their own bikes to school.
First Senior Jonho came to the classroom to talk to the year 4’s about safety with our bikes and helmets. One of the things he talked to us about is where are the safety parts on a bike. He had his big blue and yellow bike with him. Then he told the girls to get our bikes my bike is green it used to be my brothers and my helmet is silver like a shiny screw.
Then we walked over to the basketball outline on the side of the court. We had to put our helmets on so that we could see if our helmets fat on our heads right or to see if they needed to be tightened. We had to go forward on our bikes then brake to see if the were as good as a stopping horse.
Next Jonho set up a course for us to go around at first I was a bit nervous about the course because I didn’t know if I was going to do the course right. We had a round about, we had to learn to give way and when there's a gap you can go! I ended up doing pretty well on the course. While Jono was packing up we went down to the backfield to do bike races with Johnos helper, we did two slow races and two fast races. Then it was time to end the bike safety we walked our bikes up to where the bus shelter is then we ran back to class. I had so much fun I learned that you get fined $50 for riding on the foot path I love bike safety and I would love to do it again.

Speech Board reflection
What I spoke about - The batch. Our batch does not have any power so we use candles. I love watching Rowan and Olivia my brother and sister go down the doom slide.
What I did well - I Spoke fluently. I knew what I was talking about and I made eye contact.
What I would do better next time - I could relax a bit more and practise a bit more.

Maths Fractions
The name of my fraction is one eighth.
I know my answer is correct because I have a group of eighth and the I take one piece out of the group of eight so then you are left with one gone so it is one out of the eighth gone.

The robot invention
Runaway Robot Rampage – Complete story animated video from Ministry of Education on Vimeo.
Goal - poetic language to add description.
- Retell a story in my own words.
Every weekend Hemi had to mow the lawns because his dad told him that's how he could earn pocket money because he was completely out. He looked in his brown leather wallet but there was just a few flies flew out. There was one problem with that though he absolutely hated mowing the lawns, he would way rather event a robot than mowing the long stinky lawns. That's when an idea popped into his head, he could try and create a robot that mows the lawns.
He looked through some cupboards, he found some kitchen knifes, an old computer, his dad's nose hair trimmer, laser pointer, scissors and guitar strings to tie it together. Hemi spent all night in the shed trying to make a robot lawn mower. He put it all together, then he flicked it on and said “ ALIVE!!” but then hi robot CABOOM!! Hemi said “oh, no false alarm” Hemi didn't give up though he tried again he spent all night rebuilding his robot.
The next morning Hemi wheeled his invention out to the lawn, he had a white silky blanket over it Hemi got the remote control, he pushed the start mower then flicked the button on the back of the robot rand away the robot went doing its job. Hemi was relaxed on a beach chair with lemonade in his hand.
Hemi was so relaxed that he fell asleep in the chair. His robot didn’t just mow the lawns it went into town. Hemi woke up to the noise of people screaming.
Hemi ran as fast as a cheetah inside grabbed his jacket then he biked into town to see what was happening. He finally got into the big city he looked all over he saw the top of people’s hair off there heads, wrecked clothes on the washing lines, broken windows and more. He had to fix this.
First Hemi had to find his robot. Luckily Hemi had the remote control in his pocket. He rode around the city trying to seek his robot. He looked in buildings, shops, all sorts of places. Finally he he saw his robot he pulled his remote control out of his pocket, pushed the off button but the robot wasn’t turning of so pushed it again but it didn’t work. Hemi gave up in the end. But he didn’t let that stop him he had to fix this. First he had to catch the robot then he had to tell his dad what happened. He ran up to his robot jumped up and tried to turn the switch of at the back on the robot without getting cut by the robot.
The robot crashed down onto the road. Next he biked home to his dad and told him the story he got into some big trouble. Hemi‘ suddenly had an idea he said “ maybe you could do a lot of work like mowing the lawns, cleaning windows and mop the decks you might earn enough money to fix everything” Hemi liked that idea even though it would be hard work. It took Hemi 5 weeks to earn the money. The town was back to normal other than one thing people were still half bald but that became a fashion in Hemis town. Hemi came up with another great idea he could make a hair machine.

Calendar Art
Goal - produce a piece of art using mixed media.
What I did - We painted our background with special water paint then we painted the tree. Next we added the leaves and flowers and last but not least Mr Dillon took a picture of us and we glued it into our art work.
What I liked - I liked painting the tree because we had to make it the right size and we got heaps of time to do the art.
